Expert Tips for Long-Lasting Blooms
Hydrate
Get your flowers into clean cool water as soon as possible after you receive them. Start by trimming ends diagonally using sharp clippers so you don’t crush the stem, as this could prevent the flower from absorbing the water. Ensure no leaves are below the waterline as they will decompose. Refresh water daily.
Nourish
Use the flower food provided from the florist, it’s good for them.
Protect
Do not place flowers in direct heat, draughty areas or in direct sunlight. These conditions make the flowers wilt and increase the bacteria level in the water causing them to smell terrible and die sooner.
Remove any foliage that will be underwater as it contains bacteria and can spoil the water.
You are who you surround yourself with.
Remember to remove all spent blooms as some flowers will last longer than others. Dead flowers decompose in the water, which creates bacteria. This bacteria can then spread to the other flowers in the vase, clogging their stems and preventing them from absorbing water and nutrients. This can cause them to wilt and die faster.
Don’t wait for someone to buy you flowers, if you love them and they make you happy, gift them to yourself!

THE COUTURE APPROACH
Fiona’s top 3 Tips for Brides To Be
1. Start with the Big Decisions
Secure your venue and key vendors first. These are the foundations of your wedding, and popular options book out quickly. Once these are locked in, the rest will naturally fall into place.
2. Be Clear on Your Vision
Before diving into Pinterest boards, take time to reflect on what you truly want your day to feel like. Focus on what’s important to you and your partner rather than trying to fit into trends or expectations. This will ensure your wedding is personal and meaningful.
3. Ask for Help
Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, so don’t hesitate to bring in professional help. A wedding planner can take the stress out of the process, streamline your decisions, and make the experience enjoyable—allowing you to focus on celebrating this special chapter of your life.
